This photo has been taken by the photographer Osman Sagirli who said the picture is of a four-year-old girl, Hudea and was taken at an Atmeh refugee camp in Syria in 2014 went viral.
It is the saddest possible comment on the conflict in Syria, in which millions of children have been displaced or otherwise affected. An image tweeted by photojournalist Nadia AbuShaban shows a four-year-old Syrian child ‘surrendering’ after mistaking a camera for a gun.
The toddler gazes into the lens with lips pursed, eyes grim, arms raised, frozen with fear.
The photo, reportedly taken at a Syrian refugee camp by Turkish journalist Osman Sagirli, has been retweeted over 10,000 times since it was first posted on March 24.
The image appears to have been sourced from this un-dated newspaper article.
BBC spoke to the photographer, Osman Sagirli who said the picture is of a four-year-old girl, Hudea and was taken at an Atmeh refugee camp in Syria in 2014.
Says Sagirli, “I was using a telephoto lens, and she thought it was a weapon. I realised she was terrified after I took it, and looked at the picture, because she bit her lips and raised her hands. Normally kids run away, hide their faces or smile when they see a camera… It makes more sense to see what they have suffered not through adults, but through children. It is the children who reflect the feelings with their innocence.”

Many thanks Semra. In these days what I am thinking is even god is biased or influenced. Because warmongers and all kind of culprits who have money are safe but the child, Octogenarians and innocence are the victim of their blunder mistake and ego. Where is justice? We normally see the court as a justice provider but the law, which is base line of decision is made by those power mongers to protect their vested interest. I have not seen any independent organization to provide the justice for the real victim. While I was writing this my eyes were full of tears Semra!

– The 85 richest people own the same wealth as the 3.5 billion poor
– More than 530,000 women die in childbirth every year
– The 600,000 to 800,000 people are trafficked across international borders every year, of which 80% are female and half are children.
– Human trafficking is the third largest international crime industry (behind illegal drugs and arms trafficking). It reportedly generates a profit of $32 billion every year.
– There were 16.7 million refugees worldwide at the end of 2013
– Number of forcibly displaced worldwide: 51.2 million
– At least 1,067,500 people submitted applications for asylum in 2013
So on.
These are the data provided by The UN, The World Bank, the OXFAM and this is the world where we are.

I feel sad for her and also other Syrian people. Children ought to be spending their years with glee and joy, but not to be involved in a brutal war with overwhelming fear. At the same time, I am also impressed by those journalists who tirelessly make best use of their social networking sites to grab our attention towards such distressing situation. Here I am, also wishing for world peace and better human security everywhere.
