I like that you brought up both sides of the story. This is not an easy question for any country. Do we reject the poor, homeless and war-torn masses because of the possibility of harm to those already living here? My heart says one thing while my head says another. But in most cases, my heart usually wins out.
America was built on immigrants. Historically, there have always been law-abiding, good-hearted people and bad, corrupt people who have crossed its borders. Is it any different now? Yes, the bad ones have more weapons at their disposal to do more harm, but evil people will harm no matter what. I believe it is our job to reach out to the displaced thousands and help them find a new life. Isn’t that what our Declaration of Independence states? “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” ALL men…ALL people.
There are times I want to close the borders when people are killed and evil seems to be winning, but in my heart, I know there is still more good than evil in this world. And one day, we will be held accountable for the good we did in these dark times.

My book has only sold a few copies, but it was mainly just for friends and family. I wanted them to have my thoughts in a form they could hold them in.
Since returning from England, I have to admit that I have shamefully stopped writing on my travel blog. I’ve been very focused on finding work in my home city and having just recently found one, I can start relaxing again and write more. I hope you are well! ❤ 🙂

Thank you Ken. The US is a place of pride of democracy and human rights made by many humanitarians like you. So I think tycoons do not understand the meaning of humanity as it is not gaining profit. They don’t understand the power of pain.
