At least 100 people have been killed in Nepal and 45 more in neighbouring India in flash flooding and landslides. The dozens of others have been missing. Rescue works are under way but the water levels have not declined yet, it has already crossed the danger level.
Due to the heavy rainfall (on Friday 11 August), flood and landslides there is an acute shortage of medicine, food and day to day other services. Electricity, Communication and transportation facilities have totally been disrupted.
A natural disaster cannot be stopped but the risk and loss can be reduced by organising/managing resilient programmes. Due to lack of such programme Nepal has faced yet another big natural disaster after the massive earthquake (7.8 magnitude) in 2015 when more than 9000 people were killed.
