Safe space

The population growth is unlimited but the capacity of the earth to sustain its services is limited. Due to increasing human activities on land, water, air and overall environment; a severe stress on ecosystem has surfaced since the 1950s. Four of nine planetary boundaries (environmental limits within which humanity can safely operate) have now been crossed as a result of human activity and posed serious threats of sudden collapse. Moreover, agriculture itself is a major contributor of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. The quality of agricultural land, water and environment are degraded, which are essential for food production. Farmers are an important force in driving agriculture sector.Hence, food, ecosystem and humanity are interrelated and complement each other but they are stressed by the human activities.

Safe space between food production and environment.

Considering the facts, this is the right time to mitigate trade-offs and increase synergies across the system to maximise the productivity of the natural resources. To ensure there is a safe zone where highest productivity is possible from the smallest inputs. It is necessary to work towards increasing food production by caring for the earth and the future generations. Please, come and join me in this venture.
